Citizens' Climate Lobby is a citizens' action group that, since 2009, has dedicated its activism to persuading Congress to put a fee on carbon and other greenhouse gases. We have a bill in the House (Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, HR 763) that our Representative John Yarmuth has cosigned. Studies show that a steadily-rising fee on carbon will reduce pollution by 40% in 12 years, will provide 2.1 million new jobs and the revenue that will be evenly divided and returned to Americans will benefit 70% of American households. It is an economically and environmentally just solution to a significant part of the problem of carbon pollution. At last count CCL has 180,000 supporters and will hold its annual conference June 13-14; CCL Louisville is scheduled to meet with Representative John Yarmuth and his Legislative Director, Katy Rowley, in the  morning of June 17, the same day as Green Drinks will be meeting.
